Costco in Ulsan!!???

Well, now I’ve heard everything. Over the last week I have heard at least two stories about a Costco store opening up in Ulsan. Now, at the moment, they are just rumors but they come from from reliable sources.  I emailed Costco Korea and as of yet, heard nothing.

So far, the word on the street is that a Costco is being planned for some time next year and it is to be built around the failing “Fashion Outlet Mall” in Jin Jang Dong. If you are not sure where that is, look for the Lotte Mart on the way to the Airport, it is right next door.

I have poked around out there and there seems to be a lot of stuff being built… then again that could also be just a random factory. There is an empty lot for sale next to the Lotte Mart which could very well be the rumored location for the store that every foreigner in Ulsan would worship from here on in.

Ulsan Online will keep our ears to the ground to find out more details and update you on the progress. Let us hope these rumors are true and we finally get one of our own.

According to the email that I have received, Costco hasn’t announced plans for Ulsan yet.  I am not sure if that is a “no” or a “just wait and we’ll tell you when we’re ready” But that however, is the official word from Costco Korea.
