Everything You Need to Know About Ulsan

Make Someone’s Christmas Brighter

It can be hard to find the Christmas spirit in a land that doesn’t really celebrate the holiday, especially when you’re far away from friends and family. What better way to rediscover the true meaning of giving, than by volunteering to spend your Christmas day at Ulsan Orphanage in Eonyang?

T-Hope, a group of waygookeen who volunteer their time in various ways around the city, are turning their usual once-a-month visit to the orphanage into a big Christmas party, to bring a little joy to the kids who live there. You have two ways to help them out in this event:

First, head down to the Royal Anchor on Dec 16th for a funk & soul dance party /fundraiser/ toy-drive extravaganza. (See the article in Nightlife, or check the events calendar for a link to the Facebook event page)

Then, join them on Christmas day for a party with the kids.

“As you may know, T-Hope visits the Ulsan Orphanage on the last Sunday of every month. In December, the last Sunday falls on Christmas. Instead of our normal routine, we decided to make this visit EXTRA SPECIAL for the kids with a HUGE Christmas Party!

Party schedule:

1 – 1:30 – meet to be picked up. Meeting place To Be Determined

(PLEASE Stay tuned as we’re sorting out these details )

2 – 3 PM – Soccer game with the middle and high school boys!

2 – 3 PM – Holiday Arts & Crafts with the Elementary and Middle

Schoolers

3 – 5 PM – CHRISTMAS PARTY! in the Theatre Hall

** T-HOPE will perform a couple songs that everyone knows

** We’ll teach the kids a song to sing with us.

** Snacks for everyone!

** and here comes SANTA CLAUS with gifts for all the kids!

5 – 5:30 – Clean up and leave with lots of holiday cheer in our hearts.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the holidays than bringing big smiles and lots of laughter to all 112 children! But we really can’t do this without YOU!

We need as many possible volunteers to make this party a success for the kids. I’m talking 100 or more (yes, UIVC will help us in a special way if we get 100+ volunteers – yet another detail in the works)!

Let’s show them what the Christmas spirit is all about! The more, the MERRIER!

We’ll keep you posted on more details for this event and other events in the coming month to help make this party successful. ”
