Everything You Need to Know About Ulsan

Eurus European Pub

A sight for sore eyes, and big wallets

A sight for sore eyes, and big wallets

Ulsan is 9239 km from St. James Gate Brewery. Like all Irishmen, I can instantly calculate how far I am from Guinness Breweries. It’s a genetic quirk. I would happily pay 9000 won for a decent pint, and now, I can.

The oddly named Eurus, which sounds like an Eastern European beer, is a ‘European Pub’ in Samsandong. Eurus is halfway to becoming a pub, though it’s not quite there. The beer, however, has arrived.

5 years ago Marcus, the German Brewmaster, came to Ulsan to revolutionize our drinking habits. Trevi brought the German to begin their microbrew. And for 6 great months, the beer was closely monitored by the Blonde Bavarian Beer Batchmaker, but then, sadly, he went home. Beer in Ulsan (at least Samsandong) would never been the same.

Sure, there’s WaBar Draft, but that’ll leave you sicker than a dog, and it’s 5 bucks a pint now. Trevi and Munchen both taste like my dad’s old ultra hoppy home brew, but finally, Guinness has arrived (in Samsandong).

Eurus boasts to have more than just Ireland’s black gold on tap, they also have Hoegaarden, Asahi, Heineken, some American beer, their own Dunkel (dark) and draft beer. This makes it official, Eurus has the most beers on tap in Ulsan. WOW, 7.

The prices are high, 9000 for Guinness and Hoegaarden, Asahi and Heineken are 8000 won, and everything else is quite affordable.

The outside

The menu is pretty standard ‘western’ hof. Lots of fried food, little taste. The only shining light was the Fish and Chips (11000won), though we have no photos of that event. It is definitely a pub, and not a restaurant.

Where? Here!

Where? Here!

Eurus is located about 3 minutes from the back doors of Lotte Cinema. If you walked straight out the doors of the cinema, you’d see a road heading straight ahead of you, go two blocks, it’s on your left. If you get to the larger ‘Trevi Brahaus’ go back 1 building.
