Giovanni Mirabassi Trio Concert

World renowned Jazz pianist Giovanni Mirabassi will grace Ulsan with his presence on March 10th at the Ulsan Cultural and Arts Center.

Ulsan has not always been a place where fine entertainment such as this Jazz trio plays. But some people are trying to change that, says Johnny Min of Roy and Johnny Music. Johhny’s promotion company intends to help Ulsan become a more upscale city and wants to bring a wealth of culture to the city. Johnny helped bring a Seoul Jazz Ensemble to Ulsan earlier this month with a concert at the Royal Anchor in Shinae.  Johnny says that the Giovanni Miribassi Trio is just the next step in his goal.

Giovanni Mirabassi is a Paris-based Italian Jazz Pianist. He spent his early years listening to the likes of Bud Powell, Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson while teaching himself the art of Jazz piano. Mirabassi has over 15 CDs and DVDs in his extensive discography ranging from 1996 to 2008. This year, he will be playing with Gianluca Renzi on bass and Lukmil Perez on drums.

The Concert will be held at 8:00pm on Thursday, March 11th at the Ulsan Cultural & Arts Center in Dal-dong, Namgu. Tickets are 50,000won but a 10% discount can be obtained by visiting Mr. Kim, owner of the Royal Anchor.
