Friday Night Buffet at Ballentines is a not-to-be-missed event for those wishing for a taste of home. For a mere 19,000won, the buffet is loaded with western style dishes. The normal menu also includes (but certainly not limited to):

- Mince and Steak Kidney Pies
- Pork
- Salmon
- Roasts
- Kebabs
- Fish and Chips
- Curry
- Garlic Prawns
- Norwegian Meatballs in brown sauce
- sandwiches and 100% all beef hamburgers

Ballentines has been a staple in the Bangeojin Dong-Gu area for years. Under new ownership and management, the restaurant and bar has, however, undergone changes that the owners hope will add to its appeal. Wi-Fi access is available for those with laptop computers and smartphones. Sunday plays host to pancakes and omelets breakfast in addition to Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments.
Spacious and comfortable, Ballentines has sofas, a big screen TV, a pool table (on which the occasional pool tournament is held), computer access and a golf range upstairs. This is a great place to hang out after a hard day of work. In fact, Happy Hour prices make it very affordable. From 5:0pm to 6:30pm daily drinks are “Buy 2, Get a 3rd Free.”
Fun Times at Ballentines
Although the Friday night buffet is excellent, the rest of the week is a treat for western tastes as well. The lunch menu, usually about 7-8 items, changes daily. The dinner menu is quite extensive and includes all the things one might wish for in western goodies.
Getting to Ballentines is easy. Numerous buses go that way. The easiest way to find which bus works for you is the “Bus by Destination” page. Search for “Ilsan” to see a list of stops in and around Ulsan. Ballentines is on the 2nd floor above Pizza Palm just a short distance north of Hyundai Beach Apartments. If you’re coming from the northern end of town, you’ll see the Korean-spelled “Barrentines” on the 2nd floor window.
