Everything You Need to Know About Ulsan

Benchwarmer’s Food

Those who know, know.

By James Duggan

It seems to me to be almost unnecessary to have a review of Benchwarmers. I eat there at least twice a week, and have done for years. But I have come to the realization that not everyone in town is as familiar with this Ulsan institution as I am, and as such it is high time that the best kept open culinary secret of this city comes to light.

Simply said, Benchwarmers has great food.

At the Bench you’ll find the best wings in town. Perhaps the country. Available Monday nights only to go with Football, 6000 for dozen, 10000 for 2 dozen. House BBQ sauce can be spiced to your liking. Ask about the Wingmaster Challenge.

Missing your Subway fix? The Bench has great sub sandwiches, hot and cold. The steak sub is one of my favorites. A variety of other sandwiches are also available.

Had enough McBurgers? Crazy burgers not quite doing it for you? Bench has great burgers. And nachos, fries, hotdogs, and is the only place I know of for Poutine (fries drowning in gravy and cheese).

More than Pub Grub.

Not limited to standard pub fare, Bench also offers a tasty selection of noodle based dishes. Salads are available, although I can’t recall the last time I saw one. The kitchen makes up some mean rice dishes too. And Troy’s risotto is great.

Homecooking is what’s it’s all about.

Bench Sunday dinners are back and they’re too good to keep just for Sunday. Thursday through Sunday, the Bench offers a weekly special that’ll have you thinking of Mom.

Starting this month, the Bench has expanded its hours: Thursday through Sunday, the doors at 5:30 . Looking for a great place to eat? Go by the Bench and your stomach will thank you.
