Cherry Blossom Festivals 2014

Hwa-gae Cherry Blossom Festival takes place March 29th, 30th. “One of the most popular attractions of the festival is ‘The 10ri Cherry Blossom Road’ (ri is the traditional Korean measurement unit, and 10ri equals approximately 4km). It is also known as ‘marriage road’, as it is said that if lovers walk down this road while holding hands, they will get married and stay happily together forever.” – More info at Korea Tourism

Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Marathon is taking place this year on April 5th, starting at 7am. Registration is closed already, but you can go up and cheer on the participants, and enjoy the splendor of the backdrop.

Jinhae is most famous for it’s cherry blossoms. This year’s festival takes place April 1-10. Millions of people decend upon the naval port for a celebration of spring and of the Admiral Yi Sun Shin, a prominent figure of the Imjin War of the 1590s with Japan.
