Illegal Drug List
Posted by Ulsan Online on Mar 12, 2015 in | Comments Off on Illegal Drug List
I notice sometimes in the newspaper that people are arrested for drug use even though it is a new drug and there’s no way for the police to know about it. How do the drug laws work here? What is illegal?
Ulsan DTS(Drug Task Force) has a list of drugs that are continuously being updated. The prosecutor’s DTS is affiliated with the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York which arranges annual meetings with other national DTS associate such as the FBI (USA, Federal Bureau of Investigation), RUC-SSU (UK, Royal Ulster Constabulary – Special Support Unit), etc. During the conference they exchange their information about drugs so they can add new narcotics to the current list.
The penalty for ingesting drugs or possessing drug paraphernalia is a minimum of 8months to 3years in prison. Distributing or selling narcotics is punishable by a minimum of 1 to 11years in prison. Making or ex/importing drugs is punishable by 2 to 11 years in prison. Any sort of drug paraphernalia carried on the individual listed on the narcotics list is against the law.
